It's easy to take our mental health for granted - and if we think about it at all, we probably think that we're not likely to experience any problems with our mental wellbeing. These problems only happen to other people - don't they?
Of course we all feel low or worry about stressful things in our lives and these feelings will usually take care of themselves and fade away on their own, won't they?
Unfortunately, that's not always true, and it's a fact that 1 in 4 of us will experience a problem with our mood or anxiety at some stage in our life.
The Primary Care Wellbeing Service is a free NHS Service, part of the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) scheme. We provide a range of recommended talking therapies for common mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression. We offer information, guidance and talking therapies in a variety of different formats, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR and counselling for depression. To access our service you need to be aged 16 or over and registered with a Telford GP.
Need help or support with your mental health? If you would like instant access to online CBT therapy, click here to find out more about our Silvercloud programme.
Alternatively, if you would like to speak to someone about what support is available to you, you can refer yourself for a telephone assessment. Please contact the team on 01952 457415, or fill in the form here, and someone will call you within 5 working days.
We will take your details and arrange an appointment to discuss your difficulties and look at ways in which we can support you to help yourself improve your wellbeing. Please allow around about 10 minutes for this initial contact.
We have three short questionnaires which might help you assess your own mental wellbeing. You can access them through this link.
Exciting opportunity to get involved in a major UK research study about psychological wellbeing and talking therapies.
Telford and Wrekin Primary Care Wellbeing service is collaborating with the Genetic Links to Anxiety and Depression (GLAD) Study to help us better understand anxiety and depression and improve treatments for future patients. Signing up would allow you to take part in research studies about psychological wellbeing and talking therapies. We encourage you to take part and sign up at www.gladstudy.org.uk. Don’t forget to select "Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust" as where you heard about the study.

It's Men’s Health Week. Did you know that 12.5% of men in the UK are suffering from a common mental health problem, but they are less likely than women to reach out for support. If you would like support, call us on 01952 457415 or visit our website. #menshealthweek #wellbeing
